Pocket Book Publications 1999 Hardcover Very Good Very Good 25 Cm
In a catalog of some of the most notorious criminal events of the last thirty years, Coulson provides his own enthralling firsthand accounts and reflective personal opinions of his experiences in bringing hundreds of murderous extremists and killers to justice -- from the Black Liberation Army police assassins to the treacherous white supremacist terrorists of the Order and the Covenant, Sword and Arm of the Lord; from the Atlanta prison riots to the controversial sieges at Ruby Ridge and Waco; and his investigations into the World Trade Center and Oklahoma City bombings. The narrative springs to life with nerve-tingling electricity as Coulson discloses the tactics and the teamwork of HRT snipers, operators, and negotiators, as well as experts in assaults, electronics, and explosives -- and explains why, on our future path to justice, there must be "No Heroes." 593pp & almost a kilo packed for post

4 Macy, Ed Apache The Man, the MacHine, the Mission
Harper Press 2008 Hard Cover Excellent Excellent 24.5cm
What's it about? In 2007, Ed Macy's Apache squadron was dispatched to Afghanistan's notorious Helmand Province, with the mission to fight alongside and protect the men on the ground by any means necessary. When a marine goes missing in action, Macy and his team are the Army's only hope of bringing him back alive. With a soldier strapped to each side of two gunships, they must land in the heart of Jugroom Fort, a Taliban stronghold, and come face-to-face with hordes of their unrelenting enemy. What follows is a breathtaking rescue, unlike any the world has ever seen. -.-.-.-.-. reviews - This book is a personal account of the author's experiences as an AH-64 Apache helicopter gunship pilot during combat operations in Afghanistan. Very compelling, exciting, honest, and full of, as one might expect from a decorated combat veteran, humour. Does a good job of explaining that even with lots of technology, combat is still very personal, often complicated, and dangerous. 374pp bw photos. After a "brief" read I totally concur with +++ review, it's a book you'll flick open & two hours later you're still in there, it's Generation Kill but with a purpose.
