2 Cameron, Lindy (ed) Meaner Than Fiction
Australia Five Mile Press 2008 Papeback As New None issued 23cm
218pp in as new order throughout - review/content > MEANER THAN FICTION is a series of pieces written by crime writers, lawyers, academics and those involved in the legal/justice system that demonstrates that the legal system doesn't always dispense justice. The title of the book, MEANER THAN FICTION is an apt one. If these stories had been crime fiction, readers would have been up in arms about unresolved plots and untidy endings. For many of the people in the book there is no happy ending, because this is life and it is MEANER THAN FICTION.

Pocket Book Publications 1999 Hardcover Very Good Very Good 25 Cm
In a catalog of some of the most notorious criminal events of the last thirty years, Coulson provides his own enthralling firsthand accounts and reflective personal opinions of his experiences in bringing hundreds of murderous extremists and killers to justice -- from the Black Liberation Army police assassins to the treacherous white supremacist terrorists of the Order and the Covenant, Sword and Arm of the Lord; from the Atlanta prison riots to the controversial sieges at Ruby Ridge and Waco; and his investigations into the World Trade Center and Oklahoma City bombings. The narrative springs to life with nerve-tingling electricity as Coulson discloses the tactics and the teamwork of HRT snipers, operators, and negotiators, as well as experts in assaults, electronics, and explosives -- and explains why, on our future path to justice, there must be "No Heroes." 593pp & almost a kilo packed for post

Drawing on a decade of research and access to crime-scene evidence, including DNA analyses and interviews, an award-winning investigative journalist offers a definitive account of the controversial murder case....review > The Wrong Man is a gripping and provocative look at the sensational murder trial(s)of Sam Sheppard. While in high school in the 70's, I remember first reading about the case in F. Lee Bailey's book "The Defense Never Rests". 11 Shelton, Gene Manhunter the Life and Times of Frank Hamer
NY Berkley Publishing, N.Y. 1997 Paperback Very Good None issued 16cm
Book has adhesive plastic cover so it'skept really well, previous business stamp inside, spine hardly creased so I'd guess read 3 or so times. Frank Hamer seems to have led a most extraordinary life, minor amongst it being Bonnie & Clyde. If Bonnie & Clyde are classified as minor you can imagine what the rest is like! Francis Augustus Hamer (March 17, 1884 July 10, 1955) was a texas ranger, known in popular culture for his involvement in tracking down and killing the criminal duo Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow in 1934. In a career that spanned the last days of the 'Wild West' well into the automobile age, Hamer acquired legendary status in Texas and the southwest as the archetypal Texas Ranger. He is an inductee to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame. Hamer fought corrupt bankers, police & politicians (& probably should be cloned as soon as possible!) This title is really elusive & fetches top dollar, secure your copy today. Post within Aust will be by insured satchel, - buyer overseas? - it's light enough to avoid the $9 US security fee - email for a quote.
